Participants are invited to write “letters of apology” through which regret is transformed into a new beginning. A few seeds are included along with the letters into biodegradable envelopes created by artist Kiyomi Fukui. Then the envelopes are planted in the handmade planters, created by ceramic artists affiliated with Long Beach. After the apology letters are planted, the exhibition will follow the progress of the sprouting of the apologies and their future tidings and growth.
